I believe the most important thing Americans must do is to secure their economic well-being in an increasingly challenging, complex world. What I have written about all these years is the process of creating wealth, not for any one individual, but for the United States as a whole. Ever since I was a young correspondent witnessing the emergence of China after the country opened in 1979, I’ve believed we have to get more serious about creating wealth. I retain faith in the resiliency of the U.S. economy and the enterprise of American people. If Americans have the right strategies, we can once again create widespread wealth. Come with me on this journey.

Here comes the People’s Liberation Army
Is the U.S. military really just now waking up to the Chinese challengeĀ as this AP article suggests? Xi Jinping has been working on this for years. What the article does not even mention: –The Chinese have deeply penetrated the Pentagon’s IT systems, stealing details about weapon systems and even uniforms. See my two books, The […]
Kicking out China Telecom Is Positive. Now what about Zoom and TikTok?

It acted because of an increasingly strong consensus in the U.S. that every Chinese company that touches American data is using it against the interests of the United States. China’s Hypersonic Missile–Relies on U.S. Technology
China has just launched a hypersonic missle that orbited the Earth before plunging through the atmosphere toward a target. The fact that such a missle can essentially come straight down out of the sky renders our radar system useless. And the missile can shift course, making it further impossible to defend against. In effect, the […]
Goldman Sachs: Aiding and Abetting China
Chinese authorities have given Goldman Sachs the right to take 100 percent control of its Chinese affiliate, as per this story in the New York Times. This is all very cynical, even for a company whose very name stands for shady dealing. Remember the multi-billion dollar scandal in Malaysia? By giving Goldman a lucrative deal, […]
LinkedIn Pulls Out of China–How far will the tech decoupling go?
Microsoft’s LinkedIn unit decided to pull out of China, as widely reported in today’s papers. The New York Times calls a “move that completes the fracture between American and Chinese social networks.” The Wall Street Journal calls it the biggest retreat of an American technology company from China in years. I’d say we’re still in […]
Pentagon Official Resigns Because DoD Is Failing to Compete with China in AI
This speaks volumes. And AI isn’t the only arena where the Pentagon has failed to respond fast enough. Its IT systems are wide open and the Chinese and Russians must be having a field day. This article, for the first time that I’ve seen, states that the defense department was penetrated as a result of […]
