I believe the most important thing Americans must do is to secure their economic well-being in an increasingly challenging, complex world. What I have written about all these years is the process of creating wealth, not for any one individual, but for the United States as a whole. Ever since I was a young correspondent witnessing the emergence of China after the country opened in 1979, I’ve believed we have to get more serious about creating wealth. I retain faith in the resiliency of the U.S. economy and the enterprise of American people. If Americans have the right strategies, we can once again create widespread wealth. Come with me on this journey.

The Right’s Triumph Over Social Media–with Russia’s help
This is an important article in today’s New York Times. To summarize for anyone who doesn’t have electronic access to the Times, Julia Angwin, a contributing opinion writer, argues that the right used social media to help Trump win the election. It’s still not clear whether Salt Typhoon was able to listen to the words used during calls made to and from the Republican and Democratic candidates […]
The Chinese are inside Verizon
This is incredible. The Chinese state-affiliated Salt Typhoon group has penetrated Verizon’s systems and is snooping on the calls of both Republican and Democrat candidates for president as well as other senior political figures. The intruders may still be inside. This is an example of how incredibly vulnerable we are because we maintain a distinction […]
Elon Musk Is Utterly Unfit to Own X
Elon Musk has broken ranks with the other Big Tech companies that own major social media platforms. Zuckerberg et al are not making any effort to monitor or curate their “content.” But Musk has taken it a step further and is flooding X with his own posts, many of which are deepfakes, falsehoods or memes. […]
The New York Times and my book, The New Art of War
Five years ago, I published a book entitled The New Art of War: China’s Deep Strategy Inside the United States, seen here. I detailed how the Chinese government ruthlessly exploits Chinese nationals and Chinese-Americans inside the United States, whether they be students in American universities, researchers at key laboratories, or players in the political arena. […]
