The Interior Department Suspends Its Use of Chinese-Made Drones

This is a new front in the emerging technological showdown between the United States and China. I’ve heard DJI executives make promises at conferences that their drones cannot transmit any information back to China, but it’s obvious the Department of Interior does not believe them. Think how strategically valuable information about critical infrastructure such as dams would be to any planner in the People’s Liberation Army. If the Chinese write the software for these drones, I’m confident they would know how to hack them and probably not leave any traces.
