It’s time for the Biden Administration to start explaining reality to the these companies–they must become part of the fabric of American society and the American political system. Anti-trust legislation may be too meek because the companies can lobby against it and then tie it up in court for years. But national security is different. If American tech companies are providing sensitive technology to China’s military and surveillance state, which they are, and if they have allowed their IT systems to become vulnerable to Chinese penetration, which they have, they are violating America’s national security. That’s the ultimate hammer the U.S. government possesses.
