Around the end of January, the Obama Administration quietly announced that the work of its Jobs and Competitiveness Council had come to an end after two years in existence. This was a high-profile group led by General Electric's Jeff Immelt, but it never issued its final report. I think I understand what happened because I was involved at the periphery.
